ushacareguide.com (the “Site”) is operated by Rajesh Harrykissoon, MD (“I,” “me,” or “we”). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. The Usha Care Guide app at app.ushacareguide.com is governed by its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in addition to these terms.

Medical disclaimer

The articles and other content on this Site are for general education and information only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and they are not a substitute for the individualized judgment of a clinician who knows you and your child.

Reading this Site, sharing it, citing it, or emailing me about it does not create a physician-patient relationship between you (or your child) and me. I do not practice medicine through this Site, and nothing here should be understood as a clinical consultation.

A note on scope: I am a physician board-certified in pulmonary and sleep medicine. I am not a pediatrician or an obstetrician. I write here as a physician and a parent, translating published, cited sources into plain language — not as a specialist in the care of your pregnancy or your child. Your own pediatrician, obstetrician, and other treating clinicians know your situation; their advice comes first, always.

Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read here. If you think your child or you may be having a medical emergency, call 911 (in the US) or your local emergency number immediately.

No warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Medical knowledge changes; guidance that was current when an article was written may be revised later, and I make no promise that any page reflects the newest literature at the moment you read it.

Limitation of liability

The writing, illustrations, and original graphics on this Site are © Usha Care Guide. You are welcome to link to any article and to quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link back. Republishing full articles, or using the content commercially, requires written permission.

Articles cite and link to third-party sources — medical journals, the AAP, the CDC, and similar. Those links are provided for verification and further reading. I do not control those sites and am not responsible for their content, and a citation is not an endorsement of everything a source publishes.

Independence

The views on this Site are mine alone and do not represent the views of any employer, hospital, or other organization I am affiliated with. The Site carries no advertising and no sponsored content; if that ever changes, it will be labeled clearly.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the latest revision, and material changes will be noted here. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
